Richard Grek, C.R.
I am an ordained member of the Congregation of the Resurrection, a small religious community of the Catholic Church. While my residence is at the Gordon High School faculty house in Chicago (the corner of California and Addison), Fr. Gunderson has provided me with a bedroom and study here at the parish as well as an office on the main floor. On July 22nd, 2009 the Archdiocese of Chicago approved my status as the Associate Pastor of Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish. I began as a high school teacher (Archbishop Weber High School, Chicago); then I was appointed to parish ministry from 1970 until 1992. In 1992 I served as a chaplain for Resurrection Retreat Center in Woodstock, Illinois. However the Resurrectionist authorities have decided to convert the retreat center into a residence for seniors. Since I have been a week-end Mass presider for many years here at Mary, Seat of Wisdom, I have embraced a full-time ministry in the parish. My passion is to the live my religious vows authentically and faithfully and to share the charism of the Resurrectionists with the people of Mary, Seat of Wisdom. I am very grateful for the graciousness of Father Gunderson and the powerful example of Fr. Stone not to mention the welcoming and loving support of the MSW parishioners. |
