or Penneys? Do you ever make a stop at Burger
King? Do you drive a car and purchase gas
at Shell? Exxon/Mobil? or Citgo?
If, as suspected, your answer is YES,
then YOU are a potential
customer of the parish’s on fund-raising
Shopping Certificate Program.
Mary, Seat of Wisdom, along with a number
of area parishes, purchases Shopping Certificates
from vendors in bulk at a discounted price.
The Certificates are then offered for sale
to you at face-value, and the parish keeps
the profit. The Certificate profit varies
from store to store, ranging from 3% to
15% of the Certificate’s cost. Most
Certificates are available in $10 increments
We do not ask that you spend money on
anything that you would not normally purchase.
What we ask of each of you is that you utilize
Shopping Certificates as you do your regular
shopping: groceries, new hot water heater,
shoes, movie rental, and gift shopping.........
Anytime you use a Certificate to make your
purchase, the whole parish community benefits.
The profit for the Certificate is utilized
to help offset the parish subsidy to the
school. This benefits the entire community,
freeing-up dollars for the many other parish
projects and activities.
Following is a copy of the present listing
of Shopping Certificates available through
this program. The stores and restaurants
listed in boldface are those for which we
generally have Certificates “in stock”.
Certificates for all other vendors must
be ordered. Orders are placed at 9:00 Monday
mornings, are generally delivered to the
parish on Tuesday, and are available to
you on Wednesday.
Certificates are sold after all weekend
Masses in the Gathering Space. They are
also sold on weekday mornings from 8:00
to 8:30 AM at the west parking lot entrance
to the school.
We are presently encouraging ALL parishioners
to participate in the program by placing
a STANDING ORDER. Just indicate on the form
attached what you need and when you would
like it delivered (for example, $100 Dominicks
on the 1st of the month). Payment can be
made when you receive your order.
