DAY SCHOOL FINANCE COMMITTEE
 
 
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement of purpose)
 
The MISSION of the DAY SCHOOL FINANCE COMMITTEE is to monitor and report on the school’s financial situation, in order to assist the principal in guiding the school’s budget process.
 
II. GOAL (“end-product” … desired outcome for those to whom this ministry is directed)
 
The GOAL of the DAY SCHOOL FINANCE COMMITTEE is for the parish, including parents and parishioners, to be aware of the financial state of the parish school, and understand the notion of Christian stewardship commensurate with gospel values.
 
III. OBJECTIVES (corollaries, strategies, priorities flowing from mission and goal)
1. To provide for a system of leadership succession, representation an the commission, and implementation of ministry’s mission and objectives.
2. For committee members to approach fiscal issues of the parish day school from the focus of Christian stewardship.
3. To act as consultants on day school budgetary matters, including tuition rates.
4. To interact with pertinent parish ministries regarding day school fiscal matters.
5. To communicate to the parish-at-large on the rationale and faith dimension of financial support for the parish day school.
 
IV.     SERVICES (programs, actions, projects)
1. Assist principal in Day School’s budgetary process, and in establishing tuition rates.
2. Review monthly financial statements.
3. Work with Parish Finance Committee, Fund Development, and other affected ministries on pertinent Day School fiscal matters.
4. Publicize timely information to parish-at-large about fiscal matters pertaining to the Day School.
5. Provide in-service training for members of the Day School Finance Committee.
