MARRIAGE, PARENTHOOD, & FAMILY MINISTRY
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement
of purpose)
The MISSION of the MINISTRY to MARRIAGE,
PARENTHOOD & FAMILY is to enable
couples, parents and families to create
relationships which reflect their calling
as Christian spouses, parents, sons
and daughters and to have couples, parents
and families minister to each other
in their efforts to fulfill their calling
to be a Christian presence in the world.
“Family” refers to all families
whatever their composition, e.g., a
single parent family, blended families.
II. GOAL (“end-product”

whom this ministry is directed)
The GOAL of the MINISTRY to MARRIAGE,
PARENTHOOD & FAMILY is for couples,
parents, and families to adopt empathy,
mutual affirmation and conflict resolution
as “standard” practices
of Christian charity in their relationships
with each other. In this way they experience
the affirmation, love, compassion and
forgiveness of God in these relationships.

OBJECTIVES (corollaries, strategies,
priorities flowing from mission and
goal)
1. To form a coordinating team to implement
this ministry’s mission and goal,
provide for representation on the commission,
and a method for leadership succession.
2. To have a group of parishioners committed
to supporting and promoting the Ministry
to Marriage, Parenthood & Family.
3. For families to understand as fully
as possible the dynamics of their relationship.
4. For couples to be deeply conscious
of the vocation of Christian marriage
in the world.
5. To encourage and provide marriage
enrichment experiences for couples.
6. To encourage and provide family enrichment
experiences for families.
7. To provide resources and support
for single parents.
