M.O.M.S. MINISTRY - MOTHERS OF MARY
SEAT
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement
of purpose)
The MISSION of the M.O.M.S. MINISTRY
is to provide an opportunity for parish
mothers of young children to develop
support communities that foster social
activities and spiritual development
all in harmony with parish spirituality
goals.
II. GOAL (“end-product”
… desired outcome for those to
whom ministry is directed)
The GOAL of the M.O.M.S. MINISTRY is
for mothers of young children to experience
a network of friendships and support,
all rising from shared interest in the
growth and development of their children,
along with a recognition of the need
for continued spiritual growth.
III.
OBJECTIVES (corollaries, strategies,
priorities flowing from mission and
goal)
1. To establish a coordinating team
to develop and implement a service plan
in accord with the mission and goal,
as well as to provide for representation
on the Commission and a process of leadership
succession.
2. To increase communication of the
existence of this ministry and encourage
more participation among parish mothers
of young children.
3. To foster small communities of women
to facilitate bonding, mentoring, support
and friendships.
4. To provide opportunities for spiritual
growth and development of participants.
5. To offer special larger-group activities
to promote social and spiritual development.
6. To provide a method of feedback for
ongoing refinement/development of the
ministry.
IV.
SERVICES (programs, actions, projects)
1. Development of a service plan by
coordinating committee; i.e., charter
and bylaws.
2. Formation of members into small groups
of 7 to 12 members and helping to coordinate
scheduling of meeting times and dates.
3. Identifying reading materials, media
presentations and/or themes which may
provide spiritual sustenance and growth.
4. Planning and coordinating large-group
activities to gather small groups together.
5. Conducting an annual end-of-year
survey to evaluate the program and its
potential development.
