RELIGIOUS ENRICHMENT CENTER
 
 
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement of purpose)

 
The MISSION of the RELIGIOUS ENRICHMENT CENTER is to provide quality Catholic faith formation for school of religion students in partnership with the family and presbyterate. This formation fosters a spirituality rooted in the mystery of Christ. The Religious Enrichment Center also is responsible for providing family catechesis and a program of sacramental preparation for parish children.
 
II. GOAL (end-product” … desired outcome for those to whom ministry is directed)
 
The GOAL of the RELIGIOUS ENRICHMENT CENTER is to enable School of Religion students, catechists and parents to embrace a spirituality in which their understanding and practice of the Catholic faith is rooted in the mystery of Christ and in which they strive to deepen their relationship with Christ through religious instruction, scripture, sacraments, prayer and service.
 
III. OBJECTIVES (corollaries, strategies, priorities flowing from mission and goal)
1. Through formation sessions, to assist catechists in understanding the mystery of Christ and its connectedness to one’s faith-life.
2. For School of Religion students, according to their level of development, to have an understanding of the sacraments, history of salvation, sacred scripture and the proclaiming nature of the Eucharistic Prayer.
3. To provide well-developed curriculum through specific religion series.
4. To provide trained catechists to implement religion series.
5. To provide sacramental preparation programs for students.
6. To involve parents/families in the School of Religion and sacramental preparation programs.
7. To provide sacramental and liturgical opportunities for School of Religion students and families.
 
IV. SERVICES (programs, actions, projects)
1. Faith formation for public school students of the parish.
2. Training of catechists.
3. Sacramental preparation programs for M.S.W. Day School and for School of Religion students.
4. Religion resource for catechists, M.S.W. Day School teachers, students and parishioners.
5. RCIA for children, Liturgy of the Word for children, family catechesis.
