YOUTH MINISTRY
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement
of purpose)
The MISSION of the YOUTH MINISTRY is
to reach out to the high school youth
of the parish in order to help them
maintain their connection to the parish,
and promote the continued development
of their faith-life, including helping
them to become spiritually energized
around the “mystery of Christ.”
II. GOAL (“end-product”
…desired outcome for those to
whom ministry is directed)
The GOAL of the YOUTH MINISTRY is for
the high school youth of the parish
to sense an increased connectedness
to their parish. This includes continued
development of all aspects of Christian
life, so that they see themselves with
eyes of faith moving from worship into
service as disciples of Christ who “out
of love, put themselves at the service
of others.”
III. OBJECTIVES (corollaries,
strategies, priorities flowing from
mission and goal)
1. To help youth grasp the spirituality
of the mystery of Christ and its connectedness
to one’s faith-life as Catholic
Christians.
2. To find creative ways to help high
school youth become spiritually energized.
3. To provide a structure in which all
aspects of Christian life - faith, service,
community - are fostered and nurtured
in our youth.
4. To nurture the connectedness of our
high school youth to the parish by providing
opportunities for them to act as important
members of the community - for such
they are.
5. Development of youth’s understanding
and commitment to the Faith commensurate
with their development.
