DISCIPLES IN MISSION
 
 
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement of purpose)

 
The MISSION of the DISCIPLES IN MISSION MINISTRY is to engage the help of all parish ministries in the work of transforming M.S.W. into an evangelizing parish that lives out the mystery of Christ.
 
II. GOAL (“end-product” …desired outcome for those to whom ministry is directed)
 
The GOAL of the DISCIPLES IN MISSION MINISTRY is for parish leaders and parishioners-at-large to understand the Church’s mandate of Catholic evangelization, and to see with eyes of faith their personal role in Catholic evangelization.
 
III. OBJECTIVES (corollaries, strategies, priorities flowing from mission and goal)
1. To provide a structure for leadership succession, representation on the commission, and implementation of mission and goal.
2. To maintain an updated file of official Church documents and information on Catholic evangelization and make these available to parish leaders and parish-at-large.
3. To edit and distribute timely articles on Catholic evangelization to leaders of parish ministries, staff, PPCM representatives and the general parish.
4. To seek the collaboration of other parish ministries, including communications, evangelization ministries, adult enrichment, schools, in developing Catholic evangelization strategies in accord with the U.S. Bishops Plan for Evangelization.
5. To actively work with other ministries, including evangelization ministries, in conducting training programs on Catholic evangelization content and skills.
6. To be pro-active in seeking the collaboration of other ministries in sponsoring Lenten and other small group programs that focus an Catholic evangelization and home-family faith building.
 
IV. SERVICES (programs, actions, projects)
1. To form a three person coordinating committee to provide for a system of leadership succession, representation on the commission, and implementation of ministry’s objectives.
2. Workshops on Catholic evangelization
3. Organizing and facilitating, in collaboration with other ministries, Lenten small groups around faith-building topics.
4. To publish, in collaboration with Parish Communications Ministry, timely articles to raise awareness of Catholic evangelization.
