MINISTRY OF WELCOME TO NEW PARISHIONERS
I. MISSION STATEMENT: (brief statement
of purpose)
The MISSION of the MINISTRY TO WELCOME
NEW PARISHIONERS is to extend hospitality
to newly registered parishioners by visiting
them in their homes to welcome them, sharing
information about parish services, inviting
them to join one or other ministry, and
giving a blessing to the home and its
occupants.
II. GOAL (end-product” …desired
outcome for those to whom ministry is
directed)
The GOAL of the MINISTRY TO WELCOME NEW
PARISHIONERS is for newcomers to experience
the hospitality of MSW parish through
caring visits to their homes and a personal
invitation to take an active part in parish
life.
III. OBJECTIVES (corollaries,
strategies, priorities flowing from mission
and goal)
1. Providing a structure for leadership
succession, representation on the commission,
and implementation of ministry’s
mission and goal.
2. Reaching out on a personal level to
newly registered parishioners to help
make them feel welcomed.
3. Bringing information about parish ministries
to new parishioners during home visitation
and seeking to identify any special interests.
4. Inviting groups of new parishioners
at regular intervals to a welcoming supper
in the rectory, facilitated with the help
of other ministries.
5. Publicizing through the Parish Communications
Ministry the work and goal of this outreach
ministry.
IV. SERVICES (programs, actions, projects)
1. Visitation to homes of newly registered
parishioners.
2. Sharing information about parish services
and ministries, and informing parish ministries
of any expressed interest on the part
of the new parishioners. 3. Offering a
blessing for the home and family.
4. Conducting suppers in the rectory to
give groups of new parishioners and staff
an opportunity to visit. |
