TWINNING PARISHES MINISTRY
 
 
I. MISSION STATEMENT (brief statement of purpose)
 
The MISSION of the TWINNING PARISHES MINISTRY is to establish people to people relationships between designated parishes, in order to promote cultural understanding, mutual support, and to heighten awareness of the catholicity of the Church.
 
II. GOAL (“end-product” …desired outcome for those to whom the ministry is directed)
 
The GOAL of the TWINNING PARISHES MINISTRY is for parishioners to be filled with zeal for the Body of Christ beyond its own parish borders, so that they get to know individuals and groups from the twinning parish and develop ways by which the two parishes can help and serve each other.
 
III. OBJECTIVES (corollaries, strategies, priorities flowing out of mission and goal)
1. To establish a three person coordinating committee for each twinning parish which will interface with a similar team from the twinning parish, and which will provide for a system of leadership succession, representation on the commission, and implementation of mission and objectives.
2. To share between parishes the riches of the gospel and gifts each possesses.
3. For each parish to get to know the others style of discipleship, parish structures, strengths and needs.
4. To develop ways for leaders of like-ministries in each parish to be in touch, in order to find ways for parish interaction.
5. To make specific plans on a quarterly or semi-annual basis to foster people-to-people relationships between the parishes.
6. Collaborate with other parish ministries to sponsor people-to-people relationships between parishes.
 
IV. SERVICES (programs, actions, projects)
1. Dialogue between a MSW team and a similar team from twinning parish to develop consensus on ministry’s mission, goal and objectives.
2. Followup to learn about each parishes style of discipleship, parish organizations, strengths and needs.
3. Keeping ministry members informed and involved in any planned collaboration and people-to-people interactions.
4. Building on the relationships already in place with the Julia Center and Holy Innocent parish.
5. Providing information to parish-at-large about twinning parishes, and offering opportunities for parishioners to interact with people from twinning parishes.
