Mission Statement

The Religious Enrichment Center (REC) of Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish strives to assist parents in leading their children to become disciples of Jesus Christ in the twenty-first century.  Our goal is to foster a mature faith in our students and families—a faith that is living, conscious and active through the light of instruction.

Goals and Objectives

The Religious Enrichment Center offers catechesis that:

  • Promotes knowledge of the Catholic faith
  • Explains and promotes the meaning of liturgy and sacraments
  • Promotes moral formation in Jesus Christ
  • Teaches the Catholic to pray with Christ
  • Prepares the participant to live in community and to participate actively in the life and mission of the Catholic Church
  • Promotes a missionary spirit that prepares the faithful to be present as Catholics in society

Among the ministries that lie under the umbrella of the REC are the following:

  • School of Religion
  • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
  • Family Faith Weaving
  • Sacramental Catechesis and Celebration
  • Parent Enrichment programs
  • Catechist Formation and Development
  • SPRED- Special Relgious Education for persons with developmental disabilities
  • Parish Religious Resource Library
  • Children's Liturgy of the Word
  • Vacation Bible School
