~Pope Paul VI
The Liturgical Preparation Ministry coordinates and plans the details of all liturgies, setting the spirit for community worship according to the Church’s liturgical documents and calendar for the Liturgical Year. Ministry members meet with the clergy and leaders of the various liturgical ministries to decide on themes, issues, rituals for celebration of the Sundays, major seasons and feasts, and prayer services throughout the year. Guidance is provided for composing of the Universal Prayers, or General Intercessions.
Ministry members evaluate each season and feast to determine what enhanced or hindered the assembly in its liturgical prayer. As needed, ministry members provide information and background to all other liturgical ministers on changes, announcements, etc. to assist them in their immediate responsibilities and publicizes liturgical information and matters to the parish at large.
Ministry members and clerical staff meet monthly from September through May. Training in the documents, the Lectionary, current issues, practices, etc. is ongoing and provided by the Liturgy Director and clergy staff.
